Thanks to everyone, who took part in the charity event for the children's home in Thailand Give Kids Hope Home. We gathered 440 BGL, which is approx. 300 USD. Преди няколко месеца влязох в живота на един тайландски дом за деца. Стив и неговата жена от племето Лаху, Сами, се грижат за 22 деца осигурявайки им дом, храна, образование, игри, грижа и любов. Това не е обикновен дом за деца. От приют Стив е създал семейство - същото, в което той, съпругата му и собственото им дете живеят наравно с останалите 21 деца. Стив се грижи не само за постелята и шепата ориз в купичката, всяко дете получава внимание за проблемите, които среща, емоциите, които преживява, радостите, които изпитва. 

В момента Стив, който поддържа живота на семейството изключително и само от дарения, се опитва да закупи по-голяма земя в съседство, където да построи по-голяма постройка с повече спални, за да отвори вратите на дома си за повече изключително нуждаещи се изоставени деца от северната граница, някои от тях със страховити съдби. Зная, че когато човек иска да дари пари винаги ще има по-нуждаещи се, винаги ще има въпроса защо на тайландски деца, не на наши. Ако пък са наши, ще стои въпроса защо за тези, а не за онези. Истината е, че избор все трябва да се направи и че какъвто и да е той няма как да сгрешиш, защото всички сме Божи деца. Познавам съдбата на всяко едно от тези деца, живях и играх с тях, видях, че онова, което прави Стив е добро и парите от това дарение няма да се стопят по административни и бюрокративни разноски. Всички пари, които съберем, ще отидат в дома като единствено ще извадя необходимата такса за изпращане. 

Съвсем накратко - на 1 октомври, в симпатичния хостел Canapé Connection, ще раздам някои от най-хубавите си вещи. Това няма да е разпродажба и нищо няма да има цена. Всеки може да вземе свободно, каквото си харесва. Ще има една кутия, където сами може да прецените какво да оставите за онова, което сте взели. Никой няма да следи какво взимате и колко оставяте. Ако пък някой разпознае нещо, което ми е подарил, нека не се натъжава. Това не значи, че не го харесвам, тъкмо наротив - най-вероятно твърде много го харесвам и затова съм решила да го подаря. Не чистя килера си от ненужни вещи. Подарявам онова, което смятам за красиво.

Ще се радвам да дойдете и да дадете нов дом на моите вещи, ще се радвам да подкрепите каузата, ще се радвам да наминете и ако просто имате нужда от нещо, но напоследък нямате много възможност за покупки - аз съм вашето място. Вземете, каквото искате и оставете колкото искате.

As usual, once you choose and decide things start unrolling with such a speed as if they were waiting, close to burst, your cart blanche to unleash them. This is it. I am going to Brazil. It's time for my Portuguese trip and luckily, after spending some time in Brazil will go back in Europe in Portugal. Finally. I am feeling as I should have seen this option as the only possible one and felt it immediately as the right thing to do. Easy to say after took the plunge and all my atoms jump again in one direction, arranging the reality. But this is the charming of life. To decide.

One of the cheapest air flights from Bulgaria within Europe is Sofia-Milano. I've taken advantage in the past to fly tru Milano, so that I can get Ryanair to the desired destination. As we already know Ryanair launched in Bulgaria at the airport of Plovdiv. Now Plovdiv-Milano is 6 EUR one-way. All taxes included. 6 EUR. Final proceeding done - 6 EUR.

After a successful career of shrinking people's existential worries, Max switched to a happy self-sustaining life in the countryside of Bulgaria. Driven by desire to help fellows to find their piece of heaven like he did 6 years ago he runs a small real estate business Off Beat Bulgaria and operates mountain bike company Little Spring.

Between organising biking tours, making routes, sheltering strangers in his fantastically renovated guest house in Maluk Izvor, watering his vegetable garden or walking the dogs, Max is managing the biggest bookstore for second hand English books in Bulgaria.

Wide range of genres, well-selected books at reasonable price. You can find in a perfect condition Shakespeare's Sonnets at the price of 3 lv, One Hundred Years of Solitude or Umberto Eco's Baudolino at the price of 5 lv. There are finds in every category. I was gladly surprised to discover Human, All Too Human by Nietzshe or Nausea by Sartre in the philosophy sector (wrongly supposing only popular quasi-philosophical books will be there) or the pretty peculiar title as Pictorial History of Stalin in history category. The list is not endless but contains over 10 000 worth-reading pieces. The best thing is that you don't have to go to Yablanitza to buy a book personally (although it will be a pleasure to pass by where a kind and hospitable lady will offer you a cup of tea and some help). The bookstore is online, where the selection is even easier, the information about the book sufficient and its condition rated. The shipping price is unpainful, having in mind that the cost from Yablanitza is far cheaper than US or UK :)

16 August, early in the evening, I decided there couldn't be a better birthday celebration than travelling.

When one door closes, another opens. Glojenski Monastery rejected our demands for spending the night there, but a Scotish guy opened his guest house, his home-made cherry flavoured rakia and his heart to our songs and stories.

Finally, we succeeded to make the Monastery, to see the notorious father Nectarius and to feel happy from the awesome time last night and lovely view in front of us in the morning.

We were trying not to step on others' hearts on our way.

We skipped the chicken meals in Glojene. All we needed was a cup of bean soup and a glass of rakia. 

After a nice conversation along the river in Teteven we moved forward to... the place of the guys, who picked us up from the road. Their invitation was uncertain but we took it in without any second thoughts. Thanks God they had no second thoughts as well. And their house appeared to be... a bus.

What a great hospitality these boys showed! Let alone they shared all their food with us and found a home-made rakia after we drank all their beer but they even allowed us to sleep on the 2nd floor!!!

Aglen, a small village around Pleven, where I thought I will understand more about the past and childhood of my friend. It turned out she understood about me more...

It took me 28 years to visit Pleven, walking tru the past of someone else...

We were here and there, almost all around the city - walking, resting, laughing, drinking, talking. One of the best hitchiking trips I have ever had in my life. One of the best surprises happened to me during it as well when Ali, a dear friend of mine from Wadi Rum, called me from Mecca, Saudi Arabia to tell me that he is paying his duty at the time of Ramadan. I was in the middle of the Pleven's center in a speechless felicity of his religious feat, knowing how he feels, knowing that I couldn't talk with him for a long, because I know 10 words of Arabic and he could say 10 words in English. What we shared however is called energy. All that journey revived the energy of the past and future, made two close friends closer and one birthday unforgettable. A painful past story turned into a nice memory, a nice almost current experince turned into a painfull nostalgia, a future idea turned into a desired goal. However time is playing with our perception, no matter you can remember the past or know the direction of your winds, all you have is now. And it is up to your imagination what form your life is shaping now.
